We invite you to enjoy a visit with us on our historical, Victorian property in northern Berks County, Pennsylvania. Our establishment gives you the charm and personalization of a traditional B&B, in the privacy of your own space.
Whether you enjoy hiking on the Appalachian Trail, bird watching at Hawk Mountain, wine tasting along the PA Wine trail, taking in a cultural experience in Kutztown, looking for the serenity of a stay in the country, or you are in search of a romantic weekend, we are sure our clean and comfortable rooms with be the perfect HOME-base for your adventure.
We can accommodate any dietary requirements and prepare all breakfasts with many locally sourced ingredients; including produce from our own garden. Breakfasts are served in your room each morning. Bring an appetite!

Wineries & Distilleries
Both Berks and Lehigh County offer numerous wineries, breweries and distilleries.
Within 10 miles of The Birds Nest there are 12 wineries that all offer a unique perspective on small wineries. While our family has a special love for Maple Springs winery, some of the ones so close you can throw a stone are Weathered Vineyards, and Folino Estate. Eight Oaks Distillery is 15 minutes and features a variety of spirits crafted from local growers.

Dining; fine, casual or just fun
We will take care of the best breakfast you’ve ever had, but you’ll eventually be hungry again. Regardless of what epicurious itch you need to scratch it’s only a few minutes away. Our families favorites include Deitsch Eck for Pennsylvania Dutch food like Mammy made, Curious Goods for local and seasonal ingredients integrated into world class cuisine, Wanamakers General Store for a sandwich or snack. You won’t leave Albany Township hungry.
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary & Appalachian Trail
We are located 7 miles from both the Hawk Mountain Sancutary and the Appalachian Trail , making The Bird’s Nest is the closest lodging to both. Both are offer hiking and adventure for any skill level, with Hawk Mounting providing events all year round.
If you are through hiking the AT We are located closest to: FMSS- LocID 77159 or Asset-ID 1599669 and can serve as a much needed respite from the trail for a few days.
Cultural Activities and Events
Albany Township, Berks County are rich in activities and events throughout the year. Be sure to check out Leaser Lake , Crystal Cave , Berks County Hex Sign Tour , Albany Township Historical Society, Jonathan Bond Art Gallery and the WK&S Train .
Annual events include the Kuztown Folk Festival , Taste of Hamburg-er Festival , and the Hawk Mountain Arts Tour .

Kempton has many quaint stores that will be sure to satisfy.
